Imagine the last days of The Clash. After the “Out of Joe Strummer – Out of Control” tour – during which this photo of frontman Joe Strummer was most likely taken – the band began recording its final album, Cut the Crap. Strummer worked on tracks in Munich, with new members and session players coming in and out. The disc came out in ’85 under circumstances that caused Joe Strummer to “f— off to the mountains of Spain to sit sobbing under a palm tree,” according to an interview. But Strummer would soon embark a fascinating new chapter of his career and get things a bit more under control.
